At Philly Give & Get, we’re firm believers in a few things:

  • There are tons of amazing nonprofits in Philadelphia doing amazing things to help kids learn, grow, & create
  • Giving presents is great.
  • Getting presents is great.

What better way to indulge in the holiday festivities of December than to give gifts to your friends and loved ones while also giving back to some great Philly nonprofits AT THE SAME TIME?

[Mind. Blown.]

There are tons of fabulous gifts to purchase this holiday season where the proceeds are donated back to a great nonprofit doing great work. Two birds, one philanthropic stone.

HUZZAH!

With that in mind, we’ve rounded up this list of “Gifts That Give Back to Philly Kids.” Buy them, gift them (or keep them for yourself, judgement-free zone here), and give some kids a brighter future this holiday season:

PSG Pin Up Calendar

Philadelphia Sculpture Gym

$20 at http://bit.ly/HVabRv

What makes this work special is that rather than shooting rail thin models looking cute and helpless, we shot strong female artists working their art in their own work spaces. The images are at once modern, liberating and still have a vintage feel. Photos by J. Kyle Keener.

Proceeds benefit the Philadelphia Sculpture Gym, a community based workshop space for artists that has a wood shop, metal shop, mold making and casting area, small foundry, classroom and gallery. It operates like a gym membership in that you pay a monthly membership fee for access to the equipment. PSG offers classes in a variety of processes for every skill level, age, and interest.
